New Delhi, Dec 14: Home Minister Amit Shah is set to preside over a high-level security meeting in the national capital on December 19 to discuss critical security issues, particularly the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, official sources confirmed on Saturday.
According to officials privy to the development, the meeting will focus on reviewing strategies to maintain peace and stability in the region. Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha will participate in the discussions alongside other top officials.
The meeting will also see the participation of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, senior officers from the Central Armed Police Forces, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, and other key stakeholders.
This gathering comes almost five months after a similar security review meeting chaired by Shah on June 16, which also focused on the security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir.
Key areas of discussion are expected to include, strengthening area domination plans and the “zero militancy” strategy across both Kashmir and Jammu divisions, enhancing coordination among security agencies for swift and effective responses to emerging threats and identifying and addressing vulnerabilities in high-risk areas to ensure public safety.
