Bandipora, 23 June: Sabqat Malik, a young girl from Vijhara village in the Bandipora district, is making waves in the martial arts world. She clinched a silver medal at the Youth Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Abu Dhabi. Sabqat has not only secured a silver medal in the Youth Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship held in Abu Dhabi but has also etched her name in history as the first girl from the entire region of Jammu and Kashmir to achieve this feat twice.
Sabqat’s journey into the realm of martial arts commenced during her 6th-grade years when she embarked on her path with unwavering determination and passion.
Speaking to the media, she reminisced about her childhood dreams of pursuing a career in sports, a dream she has now turned into reality through sheer perseverance and hard work.
With an impressive record of participating in 11 national-level championships and twice on the international stage, Sabqat has consistently showcased her exceptional talent and skill.
