Jammu, Dec 29; A high-level delegation comprising prominent leaders from J&K EJAC and JKTF called on Hon’ble Education Minister J&K, Sakeena Masood Itoo, in Jammu to highlight critical issues concerning employees and the education sector.
The delegation included State President JKTF/NMOPS and Provincial President Jammu J&K EJAC M. Ashraf Sheikh, UT Spokesperson J&K EJAC Mir Bashir Ahmad, Additional General Secretary JKTF and NMOPS Nitin Kalyaan, and Provincial Joint Secretary JKTF Amarjeet Singh. The leaders presented a comprehensive charter of demands, emphasizing the resolution of longstanding issues:
1. Adjustment of Newly Promoted Masters and Headmasters:
1,029 teachers promoted to Masters in June in Jammu Province await adjustment orders.
Similar delays persist for newly promoted Headmasters.
2. Filling of Vacant Posts:
Critical vacancies of Headmasters, ZEOs, lecturers, principals, and CEOs must be filled to ensure smooth institutional functioning.
3. Justified Distribution of Teaching Staff:
Urgent rationalization of teaching staff to address shortages in schools with high enrollment.
4. Regularization of Left-Out Officials:
Pending regularization of left-out Headmasters, ZEOs, and lecturers requires immediate action.
5. Implementation of Transfer Policy:
Compliance with the CAT order and framing of a comprehensive transfer policy for ReT teachers.
6. Shifting Teachers to Substantive Posts:
Teachers in Grades II and III must be moved to identified substantive posts as per Government Order No. 20-Edu of 2019.
7. Annual Transfer Drive (ATD) 2024:
Expedite execution of ATD 2024 as applications were submitted in August.
8. Timely Promotions in Various Grades:
Ensure timely promotions to support career progression.
9. Confirmation of Incharge Officers:
Confirmation of incharge officers to stabilize the administrative framework.
10. Cash-in-Leave Benefits for Teaching Officials:
Teaching officials must be granted their rightful cash-in-leave benefits for assignments during winter vacations.
11. Restoration of Old Pension Scheme.
12. Timely Payment of GP Fund Bills of the Employees.
Hon’ble Minister Sakeena Masood Itoo assured the delegation of immediate action on critical issues. She committed to:
Issuing directions to the Director of Education Jammu for posting orders of newly promoted Masters.
Reviewing vacancies of Headmasters, ZEOs, and Principals and addressing them promptly.
Engaging with concerned authorities to address the issues faced by employees under the Hospital Development Fund (HDF) and NHM.
The delegation expressed special gratitude to MLA Gurez, Nazeer Ahmad Sahib, for his consistent advocacy for resolving issues related to NHM and HDF employees. Hon’ble MLA Gurez appreciated the delegation’s clarity and dedication in presenting their demands.
The leadership reaffirmed its commitment to tirelessly working for the rights and welfare of employees and ensuring the strengthening of the education sector across J&K. They expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Minister for patiently hearing the demands presented by the leadership.
This meeting follows the recent engagement of revered J&K EJAC leaders led by President J&K EJAC Mr. Wajahat Hussain Durrani and Chairman JKTF/Vice President AISTF M. Ameen Khan with the Hon’ble Chief Minister of J&K, Omar Abdullah. A series of other meetings are scheduled for the future, including a felicitation ceremony for Jammu Province leaders and a convention in the coming days.
