IPL 2025: Kulgam boy Rasikh Salam goes to RCB at Rs 6 crore, Abdul Samad to Lukhnow Super Giants at Rs 4.2 crore

Srinagar, Nov 25 : On the day of the IPL 2025 auction, two players from Jammu and Kashmir secured significant bids, with Kulgam boy Rasikh Salam being sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for a massive Rs 6 crore.

As per the available details, 14 players from Jammu and Kashmir were available for the 2025 IPL auction, of which one of the standout names was Rasikh Salam. The Kulgam-bred pacer, who had earlier played for Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Delhi Capitals, had gone under the hammer in the auction with a base price of Rs 30 lakh.

He is going to home for the fourth time in his IPL career- RCB.

Rasikh Salam, who hails from the Bhan Ashmuji area of Kulgam, made his IPL debut in 2019 with Mumbai Indians. His consistent performance in domestic cricket and previous IPL seasons helped him fetch a significant amount in this auction.

The all-rounder from Jammu, Abdul Samad, who was retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad for three consecutive years, has been bought by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at a price of Rs 4.2 crore. Abdul Samad’s move to LSG has fans on the edge of their seats, considering he provides crucial breakthroughs with his explosive batting and handy leg-spin and accelerates the game in the middle overs.

The remaining 12 players from J&K will be decided for further action later today. They include Atif Mushtaq, the bowler, Avinash Singh, the bowler, Nasir Lone, the all-rounder, Mujtaba Yousuf, the bowler, Abid Mushtaq, the all-rounder, Vivrant Sharma, the all-rounder, Shubham Khajuria, the batsman, Musaif Ajaz, Kunal Chibb, the bowler, Yudhveer Singh, the all-rounder, and Aquib Nabi, the all-rounder.

Is it worth mentioning, over the past few years, Jammu and Kashmir has been showcasing talented cricketers who have marked their presence in IPL and other national platforms.

Rasikh Salam and Abdul Samad are some of the most prominent-performing people from the region who will feature at the prestigious IPL. Their inclusions in the 2025 auction reflect the talent pool coming out from Jammu and Kashmir that is now being acknowledged at the national level for cricket.
