Emphasizes to identify demand driven trades to create more employment avenues for unemployed youth
SRINAGAR, AUGUST 06: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, who is also Chairman District Skill Committee today chaired a meeting to finalize the District Skill Plan under SANKALP programme
here at ithe meeting Hall of DC Office Complex.
At the outset of the meeting, the Convener District Skill Committee gave a detailed presentation about the skill gaps that have been pointed out by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
A proposed action plan was placed before the committee consisting of 17 sectors spread over 41 trades with the financial implication of Rs 2.054 Crores and 1230 unemployed youth have been projected under the Plan to be trained during the next one year.
The DC/Chairman District Skill Committee emphasized that Cross Trade Analysis shall be carried out by the institutions imparting skill training and thrust shall be laid to identify demand driven trades so as to create more employment avenues for unemployed youth.
He also gave directions to Deputy Director Employment and General Manager DIC to identify the trades which will be relevant to the market in the next five years by consulting the existing industrial clusters.
Besides, Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad, the meeting was attended by Members of the District Skill Committee and Officers of alli ed Departments.
