Published:

Srinagar, 27-March: Residents of batamaloo area here have expressed concern over garbage dump in the area.

The locals said the garbage dump attracts stray dogs hampering their movement. They said there are many garbage dumps on the roads inside the bus stand causing huge inconvenience to the general public.

“Dogs at these garbage dumps attack pedestrians. The authorities are neither acting against dog menace nor garbage issue. Our lives have been endangered due to the issue,” said local residents.

They said that Stray dogs can be seen in large groups around garbage dumps in residential areas thus hampering the movement of childrens and elderly people.

“This is a major problem for all of us. Stray dogs bite people, chase them when they go to prayers early in the morning, and scare away children,” they said.
